KESATUAN OLAHRAGA MALAYSIA

MALAYSIA ATHLETICS FEDERATION

About Us

The Malaysian Athletics has been the oldest federations established since 1906 in Perak. Ever since its formation, Malaysia had been a formidable figure as far as athletics is concerned in the region of South East Asia. Our purpose also had escalated further, where our athletes had made reputations at both Asian and Worlds series of the competitions namely Asian Track & Field, Asian Games, Asian Indoor Championships, World Athletics Championships, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games.

Our athletes both male and female had dominated the track and field so much so we were branded as “The tiger of Asia once”, where most SEA countries had feared us, when it comes to athletics performance. Athletic icons namely Tan Sri Dr Mani Jegathesan, M. Rajamani, PRBS Payadesa, Karuselvaratnam, Dato Nashatar Singh, B. Rajkumar, M. Ramanchandran, G. Shanti, Dato’ Paduka Hjh Mumtaz Begum Abdul Jaffar, Josephine Mary, Samson Vallabuoy and others are notable figures who are outspoken till to date.

Our quest to achieve our vision to ensure a Malaysian athlete be one of the 8 finalist at the start line at the Olympic Games, still lingers and we remain optimistic that it will be a reality soon.
